What does it mean to be true to yourself?
It’s not about chasing big dreams or ‘breaking free’. It’s the tender work of understanding yourself, seeing all possible options open to you, and making deliberate choices: about where you live, how you spend your time, and who you spend it with.
Few people know this better than my guest on this week’s Fearless Forward podcast, Quiet Trilogy author
.Through his talks, workshops, individual and group coaching and through his beautifully written books, Pete helps quiet people grow in confidence and find their voice, and he supports organisations to make better use of their quiet talent.
To nourish himself in all this he has consciously created the life he needs: with the right blend of quiet, community, and nature's beauty.
This involved turning his vision of a place he could truly call home - somewhere close to the mountains and the sea - into a living reality. Last year he made the big decision to move away from his native UK to a small mountain village in Cyprus.
In our wide-ranging conversation, he shares some great stories of what happened when he arrived in his new home and how things have evolved since.
We also explore what he’s learned about fear, vulnerability, quiet leadership, inclusive workplaces, the power of slowing down and building community, and what shapes our sense of self.
Whether we see ourselves as quiet or noisy, introvert or extrovert, there are insights here for us all.
With love from the mountain,
Sally-Anne
